Dorian Gray Oscara Wildea bojuje se svými vlastními démony na neuvěřitelné cestě za poznáním a nakonec objevením toho, co má pro něj v životě skutečnou hodnotu. Téměř obsedantní posedlost naší současné společnosti být mladý a krásný za zdánlivě jakoukoli cenu činí dnes Dorianův boj o to důležitější jako téma tohoto nového baletu. Inscenaci připraví kanadský choreograf a režisér Paul Chalmer.

Profusion, as well as self-denial, brings its own punishment

In the course of the centuries, great many artists have explored the Faustian theme of exchanging one’s immortal soul for worldly power or pleasure. Oscar Wilde’s Dorian Gray fights his own demons on an incredible journey towards knowledge and understanding. In the end, he manages to discover what the real values in life are. The almost obsessive preoccupation of today’s society with being young and beautiful at seemingly any cost makes Dorian’s struggle all the more important today as the subject of this new ballet. The staging will be prepared by the Canadian choreographer and director Paul Chalmer.
